HOW LONG ARE MOST TRIPS?

7-9 days depending on where we are going.

CAN FAMILY AND FRIENDS ALSO COME ALONG?

We encourage players to take along their families for the cultural experience and to support their kids in the games.

DO WE EVER PLAY IN TOURNAMENTS?

Sometimes we schedule tournaments and exhibition games and sometimes just tournaments and other times just exhibition games. The trip you participate in will dictate the breakout of competition.  Regardless, it will be an amazing experience.

HOW DOES A PLAYER PAY FOR THE TRIP?

  1. Option 1:  You can pay the total amount via cash, check or credit card.

  2. Option 2:  You can raise the money by holding fundraisers and sending out donation letters.  A sample donation letter will be included in your package.

WHO TRAVELS WITH THE TEAM?

We normally have two coaches and a business manager on the trip.

ARE THE COACHES PROFESSIONAL?

The Coaches are some of the best in the business. Part of the experience is to be around great coaches who WILL not only enhance your education but start the process of developing your physical & mental skills.

WHAT ABOUT SUPERVISION FOR THE PLAYER WHO’S FAMILIES DO NOT GO ON THE TRIP?

We have very good supervision; bed checks, no alcohol, clean rooms, etc.  If a player is caught breaking the rules they will be sent home at their own expenses. We hold team meetings to review the consequences of being reported to their high school, baseball program, USA Baseball the national governing bodies and all the college institutions. The players are kept busy from morning till night with games, practices, special events, site seeing and more.

HOW DO WE KNOW WHAT TO PACK?

You will receive information on what to pack, what to bring, how to pack as we get closer to the trip. We want to make sure we send this information at the appropriate times.

How do we know the customs of the country we will be attending?

You will receive a lot of information to prepare you for the different customs. We also encourage you to do your own research on the country which enhances the educational experience.

HOW IS THE COMPETITION?

It depends on the sport and the country you are participating in but we always try and match our teams with good competition. We want you to play against good competition even if we have to play up an age or two.

WILL WE BE EXCHANGING GIFTS BEFORE OR AFTER THE GAMES?

Yes, each player and coach should bring a small gift for each game, at least 10 gifts a trip. Something like a key chain, pins, caps, t-shirt, anything you can pick up for cheap that might have USA on it because other countries love items with USA on it. You can approach minor league teams, major league teams, cities, etc for free items to bring on the trip.

DO PARENTS, FAMILY MEMBERS AND OR FRIENDS TRAVEL WITH THE TEAM?

Yes, we are a team, we do everything together. We usually have our own bus, especially if we are traveling the country.  We stay in the same hotels and eat together, except for lunch, which is the time you are on your own for a couple hours.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TAKING TEAMS AROUND THE WORLD?

We have been doing it for over 30 years, my company Caliendo Sports International started 10 years ago.

DO PLAYERS HAVE TO GET MEDICAL INSURANCE?

We recommend you call your insurance company and let them know what country you are going to and if they cover the medical part of your trip. Many times you have to pay the medical bills, get them translated and then give them to your insurance company when you return. Also, many companies have a high deductible when you are in a foreign country. We highly recommend Travel Insurance so you can have peace of mind. We can recommend a travel insurance company or you can do your own research.

HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE ON A TEAM?

We keep the size of our teams so that the players get to play.
