Caliendo Sports International USA Softball Team – Italy Tour 2027

Dates: July 31–August 10, 2027

Join the Caliendo Sports International USA Softball 16 u Team for an unforgettable journey through the scenic landscapes and rich culture of Italy. From July 31 to August 10, 2027, our team will compete against local Italian club teams while exploring some of the country’s most iconic cities and historical landmarks

Travel Details:

• Depart the USA: July 31, 2027
• Arrive in Rome: August 1, 2027
• Return to USA: August 10, 2027      (same-day arrival into the USA)

Ages: 16 u, will include 15 and some 14 that can play at that level.

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity combines international softball competition with cultural immersion. Players will receive daily instruction from veteran coaches and participate in scrimmages and games designed to enhance their skills and understanding of the game.

Italy has a proud tradition of softball, and this tour offers a unique chance to experience it firsthand. We strongly encourage families—parents, siblings, and friends—to join us and share in the adventure.

Team Selection:
We will select 12–16 players to represent the Caliendo Sports International USA Softball Team. We will ask for a video, who the player plays for and maybe more details before selecting a player. Once you have been selected if you’re interested, please email us to begin the registration process and receive additional details. Be sure to share your selection of the team and this flyer with your parents or guardians.

 Italy Itinerary Highlights

Team will visit and/or play in:
Rome, Rovigo, Padova, Florence, Venice, Grossetto (beach area), Verona, and Pisa.

Cultural & Historical Experiences Include:

• Roman Colosseum and Ruins
• St. Peter’s Basilica (inside the church only)
• Gondola ride in Venice (optional)
• Murano Glass Blowing Exhibition
• Bridge of Gold in Florence
• Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain
• Visits to charming small towns showcasing authentic Italian life
• Train to Florence

Softball Program Features:

• Daily games (except 2 days, one for shopping in Rome and other travel day to Florence.)

Additional Costs (Not Included):

• Tips: 30 Euros per person for the  whole trip, one time cost, not a daily cost.

• Optional gondola ride: €40 Euro’s
• Travel insurance (highly recommended  for medical issues and cancelations of trip; we’ll provide options). There      are no refunds.

  Note: All participants must travel with the  Caliendo Sports International USA Softball Team package. Meals, games,      tours, and daily activities are experienced together as a team. Lunches      are on your own to allow for personal exploration and family time.

Includes daily breakfast, 5 group dinners, and time for sightseeing, shopping, and relaxation. Cities visited include Rome, Frascati, Nettuno, Padova, Verona, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Luca, Grossetto.

Arrive Rome,take shuttle to the airport hotel 5 minutes away. meeting with whole group in the evening. Dinner on your own. 

∙ August 2, 2027

Breakfast at the hotel included. Check out of airport hotel. Depart for game Nettuno, then we go to famous Trastevere area in Rome for lunch on your own, then to St. Peters Church for a tour with tour guide, got to hotel in Frascati, check in (one hour from Rome) dinner included at hotel in Frascati

∙ August 3, 2027

Breakfast at the hotel included. Depart for Rome  area for shopping, and lunch on your own, visit Spanish Steps, Fountain of Trevi, then for tour of Colosseum with tour guide, then back to hotel and dinner on your own in Frascati. No game today.

∙ August 4, 2027

Check out of hotel, depart for Padova/Rovigo area, about 6 hour bus ride, half way stop for lunch on the highway where they have incredible place to eat, and lunch is on your own. Arrive Rovigo for game, check into hotel in Padova and Pizza at a local restaurant included.

∙ August 5, 2027

Breakfast at the hotel included.

Depart for Verona for tour with tour guide. Lunch on your own in Verona. Depart for game at Rovigo. Back to the hotel, dinner on your own in the area, plenty of local places to eat, also a beautiful historical town square with places to eat.

∙ August 6, 2027

Breakfast at the hotel included. Depart for Venice, take boat to Murano island for Glassblowing display, take boat to Venice, Optional Gondola ride, lunch on your own, depart for Rovigo/Padova for game, back to hotel, dinner on your own in the area.

August 7, 2027

Breakfast at the hotel included. Check out of hotel (Old Monastery turned into a hotel, charming, nothing like it anywhere). Depart forFlorence, tour of Florence with Tour guide, lunch, shopping on your own, go to hotel, relax, pool area, no game, dinner at the hotel included.

Breakfast at the hotel included. Depart for Pisa, take mini train into Pisa, 10 minute ride, tour of Pisa with tour guide, lunch and shopping on your own, depart for game in Luca. Back to hotel, dinner at hotel included.

∙ August 9, 2027

Breakfast at the hotel included. Check out of hotel. Depart for Grossetto(Near the beach), go to beach, have lunch on your own at the beach, depart for game Grossetto, depart for Rome hotel near airport, dinner party by the hotel pool, included.

Depart for the USA, arrive the same day in the USA.

How to Reserve Your Spot: 

Once selected, a $500 Non-Refundable deposit is required to secure your roster spot—as well as spots for any family members, relatives, or friends planning to travel with the team. If someone isn’t fully committed yet, they can hold off on submitting a deposit. Should space become available later, they’re welcome to join at that time.
